Carrie lands October 7 on Prime Video — Mike Flanagan’s eight-episode King series

The prom has a premiere. Prime Video’s Comic-Con panel locked Mike Flanagan’s Carrie for October 7, 2026 — all eight episodes at once — and debuted a teaser that hits the gymnasium faint, the crown, and the scream inside a fire without turning the series into a shot-for-shot 1976 remake.

Cast and the modern cruelty engine

Summer H. Howell is Carrie White; Samantha Sloyan is Margaret; Matthew Lillard plays Principal Grayle. The logline pushes viral bullying, social-media pressure, and telekinetic awakening after Carrie’s father dies and public school becomes the arena. Flanagan writes and showruns, directing four episodes; Stephen King is attached as EP on the Amazon MGM production.

First series, not another movie remake

King’s debut has been a film multiple times. This is the first proper series adaptation — eight hours to sit in the choices that spiral toward one night. October 7 stacks Prime’s horror autumn next to Caped Crusader’s late-July bounce and Blade Runner’s November cyberpunk.

“All eight episodes of Carrie premiere exclusively on Prime Video on October 7.”

If Hill House was architecture and Midnight Mass was faith, Carrie is high-school surveillance. Bookmark October 7. Bring a towel.
