Digimon Story: Time Stranger lands on Switch and Switch 2

The Digital World: Iliad is portable. Digimon Story: Time Stranger launched July 10 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, joining the existing PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions from Bandai Namco and Media.Vision.

The turn-based monster-taming RPG spans human and Digital Worlds with more than 450 Digimon. On Switch 2, players can choose Quality Mode (up to 4K/30) or Performance Mode (1080p/60). Playing the Switch version on Switch 2 with the update unlocks equivalent graphics modes; moving back to Switch 1 reverts those options.

Editions, demos, and the season pass

Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Digital Ultimate editions are available. Deluxe adds the Cyber Sleuth costume set and a three-pack season pass; Ultimate front-loads special Agumon/Gabumon unlocks plus costumes, items, and a Cyber Sleuth BGM pack. A demo previously soft-launched on Nintendo platforms ahead of day one.

Post-launch DLC continues — including Additional Digimon & Episode packs such as Anti-ParadoX — so Switch owners are joining a live RPG calendar, not a frozen SKU. For fans who waited for handheld Digimon Story, July 10 closes the platform gap.
