Pokémon Pokopia Bubbly Basin is live — Dive free update unlocks underwater builds today

The water finally stays open. Pokémon Pokopia’s Expansion Pass Part 1: Bubbly Basin and the free Ver 2.0.0 update are live August 5, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. Everyone who owns the base game can learn Dive from Manaphy; Expansion Pass owners get the full underwater town, watermelon Water-specialty farms, buoyant building blocks, and a dark deep-sea coral route.

Free vs paid today

Free: Dive lets Ditto swim and build underwater in existing towns, including handcar rails from land to sea. Paid Part 1: Bubbly Basin as a new submerged hub, smoothie recipes, bubble machines, Sharpedo “secret base” rooms, and more Pokémon (Totodile, Popplio, Finneon among the highlights). Part 2 (accessories) stays late 2026; Part 3 (new town) is 2027.

How to unlock the splash

Progress gates still matter — finish the Raise the environment level request in Bleak Beach and have Surf + jump before the underwater fantasy fully opens. Buy the Expansion Pass on eShop if you want the basin today; otherwise grab Dive free and test the water.

“Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass… is set to release on August 5… Dive… Ver. 2.0.0 free software update.”
