Steam Frame launch signals stack: Steamworks 1.65, 25+ verified games, more shipments

Valve still will not name the day — but the storefront and the dockets will. Mid-to-late July coverage puts Steam Frame deep into launch choreography: Steamworks SDK 1.65 adds Frame support and controller action origins, the Great on Frame shelf climbed past 25 verified titles after a July 24 wave, and additional hardware shipments (foam, adapters, more VR devices) keep stacking on top of the June customs flood.

What is confirmed vs still missing

Confirmed: summer 2026 window (reaffirmed with Steam Machine), SteamOS standalone headset, PC VR streaming dongle story, SteamVR dashboard rebuild aimed at Deck-like controls, FEX translation for most of the x86 catalog. Missing: MSRP, reservation lottery date, and the keynote moment. Steam Machine already shipped June 30 at $1,049 via randomized reservations — Frame is widely read as next on that runway.

The hard “no” list

Kernel-level anti-cheat remains unsupported on Frame: Valorant (Vanguard), current Call of Duty (RICOCHET), Battlefield 6, and EA Sports titles are called out as non-runners in standalone or stream modes. Everything else is the merchandising push — Train Fest ending July 27 is one rumor hook for clearing homepage real estate, not a promise.

“Valve has confirmed a summer 2026 window for Steam Frame alongside Steam Machine — the Machine already shipped; the Frame is still waiting on the named day.”

— Industry consensus — June–July 2026 Valve / trade coverage

If you are waiting on price, watch the reservation page, not another teaser. The software shelf is already being stocked.
