Xbox tests ad-supported cloud streaming — own the game, watch ads, skip Game Pass

Game Pass is not the only cloud key on the ring. Xbox is testing ad-supported game streaming for Insiders: stream titles you already own — plus select free-to-play like Warzone — after watching ads, no active Game Pass required. Sessions cap at about an hour; ads play before play, not mid-match.

The catch (there is always a catch)
This is not the full 1,800+ streamable catalog for free. Ownership (or F2P) is the gate. Ads reportedly run up to ~two minutes before a session; roll another hour, watch again. Xbox frames it as a learning test, not a launched tier. Still: if you bought the game and hate hauling a console, the pitch writes itself.
Insiders only for now. Everyone else: keep an eye on whether “ads for hours” becomes a real SKU or dies in feedback hell.
