iPhone Ultra foldable still aimed at September reveal — supply chain says no delay, ship may stagger

Apple’s first book-style foldable is still on the September stage — according to supply-chain sources who say component deliveries have started in small batches and that guidance still points to an unveil beside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. The rumored name is iPhone Ultra. The rumored price band starts around $2,000 and climbs past $2,300 in some analyst notes. Apple has said nothing publicly.

Announce together, ship apart?

The messy part is fulfillment. Ming-Chi Kuo has argued Apple may repeat the iPhone X playbook: unveil the foldable with the Pros in September, then open pre-orders later in Q4 because early production is constrained — even as unit targets floated near ~10 million for the year. Competing Chinese supply notes still claim a fall 2026 timetable with no delay signal. Both can be true if “debut” means keynote and “launch” means doorstep.

The hardware rumor stack

Consensus leak sheet: ~7.8-inch inner display, ~5.5-inch cover, A20 + C2 modem, Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID, dual rear cameras. Event calendar chatter from Gurman clusters around September 8–9. None of that is a product page.
