Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo August 5 — permanent price cut August 6

Capcom built an on-ramp, not a patch note. After August 4’s update 1.042 (all 26 Event/Challenge Quests offline, Just What the Doctor Ordered made permanent), the Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo hits PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on August 5 with save transfer into the full game — empty full-game save required. August 6 follows with a permanent price drop and fresh DLC bundles.

New hunters vs veterans

Veterans get offline Event Quests and a cheaper friend-buy for the holdouts who bounced at launch. Newcomers get a demo that is not disposable homework — progress can carry if you sequence patch → demo → purchase correctly. Switch 2 Wilds remains a future promise; this week is current-gen recruitment.

Why the three-day ladder matters

Offline events (4th), demo transfer (5th), sticker cut (6th) is deliberate funnel design. Search “Wilds prologue demo,” “Wilds price drop,” and “Wilds save transfer” will spike the same 72 hours — one explainer ranks for all three.

“The Prologue Demo launches August 5; transfer into the full game by launching Wilds with no existing full-version save.”
