Lost Game Freak doc dumps 100+ scrapped Diamond/Pearl designs — ResetEra is frame-scrubbing Sinnoh

This one did not come from a Git dump — it came from a DVD that was never supposed to leave the building. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl: Behind the Scenes DVD — MAKE ALL, an internal Game Freak documentary shot during Gen 4 development, hit public archives after collectors (notably Neos) secured discs and archivists led by Lewtwo preserved the ~43-minute Japanese cut. What ResetEra and archivists are pulling out

Frame-by-frame scrubbing is the sport. Early Turtwig as armadillo energy, Chimchar with nuclear cheeks, Piplup/Empoleon color experiments that scream Water/Ice road-not-taken, a “Foam Dog” water starter, gnome-coded Delibird evolution, Lapras and Stantler pre-evos, baby Plusle/Minun vibes, and a zoo of fully cut fauna — crane, cricket, snail, swordfish, plant lines, the works. Some frames look like ghosts of later gens (Chien-Pao vibes, Sandygast ancestry arguments).

Why this hits different than sprite leaks

The 2019 Diamond/Pearl data leaks were ROM archaeology. Make All is office-camera history: paper maps, block models of Sinnoh, staff goofing in the Game Freak bullpen, and design sheets that were never meant for Pokédex.com. Polygon, Dexerto, NintendoSoup, and ResetEra threads are racing to catalog before Nintendo legal notices start landing. An English translation of the doc is already on the fan roadmap.
