Dawn of War IV Necron CGI drops — Szarekhan Dynasty awakens to reclaim Kronus

The dead are done sleeping. On July 20, Deep Silver and KING Art Games posted the third of four planned in-game CGI narrative sequences for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV — and this one belongs to the Necrons. After Space Marines, Orks, and the Adeptus Mechanicus beats, the deathless metal dynasty finally gets its orbit shot at Kronus.

What the trailer shows
Chronomancer Thothmek of the Szarekhan Dynasty watches Space Marines and Orks tear up Kronus from orbit, then decides the “lesser species” have overstayed. Tombs wake. Necron Warriors rise in unison. Triarch Stalkers, Canoptek Scarabs, and Lychguard fill the frame. The closer is the money shot: a Necron fleet massing above the planet, ready to purge everyone who thought an ancient tomb world was free real estate.
“It shall be ours again.”

Faction checklist + calendar
Each CGI chapter introduces one of the four launch-playable factions. Necrons are chapter three; one more cinematic remains. Dawn of War IV launches September 17, 2026 on PC, with Commander Edition unlocking three days early on September 14. Pre-orders are live with a reported 10% discount window. Year One promises free Crusade Mode returns, maps, commanders, a Mission Editor, plus two story expansions and a new post-launch playable faction.

RTS summer just got colder. If you are drafting a main for September, Thothmek just made “living metal swarm” look like the correct answer — until the fourth trailer tries to steal the spotlight.
