EverQuest Legends launches July 28 with Kerran playable — classic Norrath, new cats

Norrath’s reboot is two days from the door. EverQuest Legends launches July 28, 2026 on PC for $19.99 (includes one month), with a $9.99 recurring sub after — and San Diego Comic-Con finally said the quiet part: Kerran are playable at launch.

What “Legends” is selling

Developer Game Jawn and Daybreak are pitching a classic-art-style reimagining: Antonica, Faydwer, and Odus at launch, original races plus Iksar, Frogloks, and now Kerran, with updated skins and animations on the old silhouette language. Executive producer David “Sysyphus” Youssefi framed Kerran as Kerra Isle tribal cats — not the Luclin-translocated Vah Shir branch — and stressed Legends is not strictly chained to other EQ timelines.

Pre-order clock

Pre-order beta already ended July 21; pre-orders remain through July 26 PT with name reservation and the “The Legend” title perk. If you grew up on blue servers and always wanted a proper catfolk roll without hopping to EQII lore, July 28 is the appointment.

“We’re taking those original models and updating the skins and animations to make Kerran actually a playable character race — available at launch.”

— David Youssefi — Variety interview ahead of SDCC 2026

Classic graphics, classic zones, subscription economics — plus cats. The 1999 fantasy MMO just got its most meme-proof launch feature.
