Fortnite’s Cuddles and Chaos Collection lands July 23 — Sidekicks go Pokémon-mode

Fortnite’s Sidekicks spent a year as backpack charm energy. On July 21, Epic posted the Cuddles and Chaos Collection trailer — and the pitch is no longer cosmetic. July 23 brings a “new collection of creature-based games where Sidekicks take center stage,” complete with live-action conservationist Maya Higa, fierce pet battles, and UEFN islands built to weaponize the companion API Epic opened to creators in June.

What Epic actually said
The trailer copy promises fierce Sidekick battles, wild adventures, and deep bonds. Higa will lead Twitch adventures around the drop. Leaker chatter and Epic’s own UEFN notes frame this as much as an Unreal Editor showcase as a Battle Royale patch — monster battlers, cozy farming, creature-collection RPGs, companion adventures. Cube Sprites also debut the same Thursday in the weekly Sprite rotation.
“Fierce Sidekick battles, wild adventures, and deep bonds await!”

Freebies worth the queue
Quest trackers already list free cosmetics for completing Cuddles and Chaos challenges — including the P.A.N.D.A. Team Jr Sidekick around the four-quest mark, plus banners, loading screens, and wraps further up the ladder. No V-Bucks required for the core companion reward if you finish the objectives before the event window closes.
Palworld surveys, UEFN Sidekick NPCs, and a Pokémon-Go-flavored live-action spot in the same week is not subtle. Epic wants creature combat inside the Fortnite OS. July 23 is when the islands go live and the meme becomes a matchmaking queue.
