Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer reveal locked for July 30 — open beta in August

Chainsaws need a playlist. The Coalition announced the Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer reveal for July 30, 2026, at 6:00 AM PDT / 9:00 AM ET — a week from today — with an open beta framed for August and the full game launching October 6 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Versus Mode and new maps are the expected headliners; exact mode count is still under the cover.

What we already know about MP

Classic 4v4 on symmetrical maps. Sliding as mobility, jumping for flanks. Horde Siege is the 12-player co-op evolution spanning Kalona. The Coalition is messaging a seasonal roadmap where new content can be earned via challenges — a direct answer to years of “paywall cosmetics” fatigue — plus new maps and weapons for players who ignore the storefront entirely. Campaign length is pitched at 14+ hours.

“Tune in on July 30th at 6amPT | 9amET for the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Reveal.”

Why the date is smart

July 30 sits two days after Halo: Campaign Evolved’s full launch / Game Pass day — Xbox’s summer is a conveyor belt on purpose. Pre-order messaging already ties Early Access open beta (from August 6 in prior trailers) to Exfil Dom / weapon skins. If the July 30 stream shows netcode confidence, October 6 stops being “campaign only” in the discourse.

Mark the calendar. Clear the DVR. The Locust are not the only swarm that needs a map pool.
