Misty Green trailer: Chris Rock’s A24 Hollywood satire aims at TIFF, then October
Chris Rock is back behind the camera, and Hollywood is the roast. A24 released the first Misty Green trailer on July 22: Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses) plays Misty, an Emmy-winning actress whose vices keep nuking every comeback, until director Jordan (Rock) offers the perfect role — burdened by their contentious past. Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, and Topher Grace fill out a stacked industry ensemble.
What the trailer is selling
Agent energy from Grace: maybe Law & Order is a stretch right now. Rock’s filmmaker reminds Misty she once punched a co-star on set. Kendrick’s friend deadpans that Misty’s lifestyle manifesto sounds like a Lil Wayne song. TIFF positions the film as a satire of “the bigotry and hustle at the heart of Hollywood.” World premiere: Toronto Gala Presentations this September; A24 theatrical window: October 2026.

Rock’s director gap
This is Rock’s first feature as director since 2014’s Top Five, after Head of State (2003) and I Think I Love My Wife (2007). Producers: Rock, David Worthen Brooks, Peter Rice. If Jay Kelly was last year’s gentle industry elegy, Misty Green looks ready to throw elbows in the same hallway.
Second acts are rare. Trailers this sharp are rarer. TIFF will tell us which one Misty gets.
