Monster Hunter Wilds 1.042 makes Event Quests offline on August 4 — demo transfer next day

Solo hunters, stop babysitting the router. Monster Hunter Wilds update 1.042 lands August 4 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC with the QoL Capcom should have shipped earlier: all 26 Event and Challenge Quests become playable offline, and limited-time Just What the Doctor Ordered goes permanent.

Demo on-ramp is intentional

August 5’s Prologue Demo can transfer into the full game if you launch Wilds with no existing full-version save. Patch first, demo second — Capcom sequenced the week so new blood does not waste a weekend on a dead trial save.

Price drop follows

August 6 brings a permanent price cut and new DLC bundles. Between offline events, demo transfer, and a cheaper sticker, mid-August is the cleanest on-ramp Wilds has had since launch.

“All currently available Event Quests and Challenge Quests that previously required an online connection can now be played offline.”

— Capcom — Monster Hunter Wilds 1.042 notes (Aug 4, 2026)

Sharpen the Artian grind. Gogmazios does not care if your ISP blinked.
