Avengers: Doomsday trailer drops Doctor Doom — Infinity Vision tickets on sale for Dec. 18

Avengers: Doomsday trailer drops Doctor Doom — Infinity Vision tickets on sale for Dec. 18

The wait for a proper Avengers: Doomsday look is over. On July 20, Marvel Studios posted the first full trailer for the Russo brothers’ return to the MCU — and for the first time the public sees Robert Downey Jr. in Doctor Doom’s armor, not as a CinemaCon rumor or a post-credits silhouette.

Avengers: Doomsday official trailer
Marvel Entertainment’s July 20 trailer — Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026.

What the trailer actually shows

The cut is pure Endgame-era scale with Multiverse stakes: heroes from three distinct universes — the Avengers of Earth-616, the Fantastic Four, and Fox’s X-Men — collide against an existential threat. Thor warns that “we’re going to need a miracle.” Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is back in the fight for the first time since 2019’s Endgame. The roster flex is absurd on purpose — Shang-Chi, Yelena and the Thunderbolts orbit, Namor and Wakanda, Gambit, Magneto, Xavier, Cyclops, Beast, Mystique, Nightcrawler — all framed as pieces on Doom’s board.

“Beloved heroes from three distinct universes [are] set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.”

— Marvel Studios — Avengers: Doomsday official synopsis (July 20, 2026)

Doom is the point

Downey’s Victor von Doom is no longer a casting stunt buried in First Steps’ post-credits tease. The trailer puts the mask on camera and treats him as the gravity well the entire Phase 6 climax orbits. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo are back for their fifth Marvel feature after Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. Producers: Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz. Script credits have been reported as Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely in trade coverage.

Infinity Vision tickets are live now

Same day as the trailer, Marvel opened tickets exclusively for Infinity Vision — a new Premium Large Format certification promising bigger screens, brighter images, and louder sound. General seating waves will follow; this is the early PLF land-grab. Theatrical date remains locked: December 18, 2026. The companion Avengers: Secret Wars is still dated for December 17, 2027.

Comic-Con is four days away

Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel is Saturday, July 25 (5:30–6:30 p.m. PT). Feige’s stage is almost certainly packing more Doomsday — and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already ten days from theaters. Treat the July 20 trailer as the floor, not the ceiling, of the summer marketing cycle.

Bottom line: the MCU’s biggest swing since Endgame finally has a public face, a Doom, and a ticket link. December 18 just got louder.
