Stranger Things returns to Halloween Horror Nights — S5 haunted house + first franchise lagoon show

Hawkins is closed on Netflix. It is very much open at Universal. For Halloween Horror Nights 2026, Universal and Netflix are bringing Stranger Things back as a full Season 5 haunted house — and, for the first time in HHN history, wrapping an entire nighttime lagoon show around a single franchise.

The haunted house: Season 5, both coasts
Developed with Netflix, the new house drops guests into the final season’s battle for Hawkins. Expect walks through the Wheeler House, Hawkins Lab, the MAC-Z military base, the Upside Down, and the Abyss — with Demogorgons hunting the queue and Vecna closing the distance. Universal’s own language frames it as an “all-or-nothing battle for survival,” not a nostalgia hallway of Season 1 bikes.
“This year’s Stranger Things haunted house will showcase the most gripping moments from the final season in an authentic, visceral experience that places guests at the center of the ultimate battle to save Hawkins.”

Return to Hawkins: the lagoon show
Orlando exclusive: Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins is a nighttime lagoon spectacle celebrating ten years of the series across all five seasons. Towering water screens, lighting, and score cues replace the usual multi-IP collage. Bloody Disgusting and Netflix Tudum both note this is HHN’s first lagoon show built entirely around one franchise — a soft admission that Stranger Things still prints park tickets after the finale.
Dates, tickets, merch
HHN runs select nights August 28–November 1 at Universal Orlando and September 3–November 1 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets are on sale now via HalloweenHorrorNights.com. Merch leans hard into S5 looks — Will’s bomber jacket recreations, Holly’s necklace, Demogorgon scrunchies/socks, plus the usual mug-and-tee nostalgia drop. Food and beverage tie-ins ride along.

The Upside Down already won streaming. Now it wants your park hours and your scream queue. August 28 is when Orlando finds out if Season 5 hits harder in a maze than it did on a couch.
