Fallout Season 3 is filming — Walton Goggins is “back in the saddle” as the Ghoul
The Wasteland does not do retirement. After Fallout Season 2 wrapped its New Vegas run on Prime Video (finale February 3, 2026), Season 3 is officially in the chair — prosthetics and all. Walton Goggins posted from makeup on Instagram with a simple caption: “Back in the saddle… Fallout Season 3,” tagging Emmy-winning makeup artist Jake Garber.
Where Season 2 left everyone
Season 2 dragged Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and the Ghoul into New Vegas orbit — Mr. House, Legion heat, and the Strip’s ugly jokes included. The finale pointed Cooper Howard toward Colorado in search of his wife and daughter. Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet already warned fans not to expect a straight highway: the Wasteland “sidetracks you with bullshit every goddamn time.”

Who is back / who is new
Core cast returning: Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Frances Turner. Season 2’s Macaulay Culkin chapter is done; June trade reports floated Emily Mortimer among names circling Season 3. Amazon renewed the series for Season 3 back on May 12, 2025 — before Season 2 even aired — with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy calling it “ending the world all over again.”
When does it drop?
No official premiere date. Industry tracking and TV Insider’s July read both point at mid-to-late 2027 — a full production cycle after a New Vegas season that already stretched the budget and geography. Bethesda’s Todd Howard keeps stressing the show can jump locations the games only tease, which is corporate-speak for “Colorado is a direction, not a promise.”

Between the prestige drama, Fallout 76’s live ops, remaster chatter, and the Fallout Shelter reality competition Amazon already greenlit, Vault-Tec is a full entertainment stack now — not a one-show adaptation. Season 3 cameras rolling is the next brick. Until Amazon dates it, Goggins in the chair is the only receipt that matters.
